The trading house and the museum café is a link between our facilities in Kristiansund, and a natural place to take a break when you're wandering between the docks at Gomalandet, Mellemværftet and the city centre.
Nordmøre museum became in 1998 the owner of one of the oldest klippfisk companies in Kristiansund, Patrick Volckmar AS, that was founded in 1887. The trading house had been out of business for many years at this point, but they kept the company name.
Its biggest attraction is the over 100 year old coffee roaster, which is one of the oldest coffee roasters that is still in use in Norway. The coffee roaster was made by Emmericher Maschinenfabrik in Emmerich am Rhein in Germany. It is cole-fired and dates back to 1870.
